Virtual Golf Anyone?
 |
Test your skill on the toughest holes America has to offer. From Mauna Lani,
a course carved out of an ancient lava flow on the coastline of Hawaii to
the stark beauty of PGA West possibly the toughest course in the world, set
against the rugged Santa Rosa Mountains in La Quinta, California.

The theater is equipped with a golf simulator that allows you to play a full
game of golf. When you swing the 26 inch laser "golf club" over the
electronic sensor grid, the game senses the speed and angle of your swing.
Your on screen golf character makes the appropriate swing and you end
up in the fairway or in the rough, on the green or in the sand trap.
And yes, your slices, hooks and other real world problems follow you here.
All the while a British sports telecaster announces the savvy of your every
stroke.
The system was purchased from
MINDFLUX of Australia. They sell V.R. gear.

Here
is a short video clip of the Golf Simulator in action.
The video to the left, is a
Windows Media Player format. Here is an
MPEG version for download.
Watch closely and you can see the laser club head being
projected onto the sensor array.
To select a different club, you simply turn a dial on the
laser club.
